Marie France Van Damme, the Quebec-born designer, who has been based in Hong Kong for 30 years, has a busy autumn schedule.

"From next September, I'll be at Paris Fashion Week via a private salon in my apartment on Rue de Rivoli, just a few meters from the Dior and Yves Saint Laurent boutiques," said Van Damme. "A historic place redesigned by Jacques Garcia, where we will receive our customers and buyers by appointment."
Founded in 2011, the Marie France Van Damme brand promotes a spirit of slow fashion that fuses understated European elegance with dramatic Asian aesthetics. Best known for her silk caftans and timeless resort wear, Van Damme's designs have become a must-have for the jet-set including celebrities clients such as Beyonce, Angelina Jolie, Katy Perry, Eva Longoria and Olivia Palermo.
In addition to her nine boutiques around the world, including the Peninsula Beverly Hills in Los Angeles, Miami at Bal Harbour Shops, Hong Kong, Bangkok and Phuket, Dubai Mall, Singapore and Marrakech, Marie France Van Damme will be focusing on organizing trunk shows rather than opening new boutiques in the coming months.

"The Covid crisis and the cancellation of orders made us change our strategy," explained Van Damme. "We're going to limit wholesale for the next few seasons. And even if other boutique opportunities present themselves, I now want to give priority to personal appointments with our customers around the world, and the trunk show format is ideal."
While waiting for Paris Fashion Week, Van Damme's collections are currently enjoying international exposure. Most recently, singer Beyonce chose Marie France Van Damme's silver metallic sleek nageur swimsuit for her Renaissance World Tour.
