There was more evidence on Monday that London's Covent Garden is becoming an ever more appealing location for higher-end brands to open flagships, particularly in the watches and jewellery segment.

The estate’s landlord Shaftesbury Capital announced that Tissot, the Swiss watch brand owned by the Swatch Group, has opened its debut flagship boutique in Covent Garden, and it’s the brand’s only standalone store in the UK.
Tissot has focused on the London market for its UK growth and the new flagship is at 7 James Street, showcasing its broad selection of premium watches for men and women.
We’re told the store has “a modern, inviting atmosphere” and stocks both new products and “crowd-favourite collections” including the Tissot PRX, Seastar, T-Touch Connect, and Le Locle.
As mentioned, Covent Garden has been a particular target for luxury watch and jewellery brands of late and boutiques there already include Bucherer, Hublot, Omega, TAG Heuer, Tiffany & Co and Tudor, with Missoma, Messika and Girard-Perreguax being the most recent openings.
The neighbourhood is also a magnet for beauty brands and fashion labels. Other openings there lately have included luxury perfume house Creed on King Street and independent British womenswear retailer Odd Muse on Monmouth Street.
