In 2025, a lot of work was done in Armenia in terms of mother and child health care. Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan stated this at Tuesday’s press conference to recap the healthcare-related situation in Armenia last year.
"We have improvements here in terms of both maternal mortality and infant mortality; this is our most important achievement describing the healthcare system [of Armenia]. We have an expansion of our assisted reproductive technology program, as a result of which we have also recorded a large number of births in the past year. And we are already addressing secondary infertility, which, I can say, is considered quite an extravagant program even for many developed countries. But we realize that this program is extremely important to address Armenia's demographic issues and achieve results within the framework of the strategy," said Avanesyan.
