Last week, Barneys New York announced that it will carry Kanye West’s Adidas line, Yeezy Season 1, this fall. The line will be released as a collection to be carried on the eighth floor of the company’s Madison Avenue flagship store, at additional Barneys stores nationwide, and on its website. West’s Adidas consists of apparel, footwear, and accessories.
On whether West will be involved in the collection’s marketing, Liad Krispin, senior director of Adidas trend and influencer marketing, said, "Kanye West is involved in every facet of the collection from its initial concept through to design to the way it is marketed. At this stage, it is too early to share how the collection will be fully presented at retail, but our discussions with him are ongoing and well under way."
Although Barneys will carry the line, it will not carry the free zine lookbook of the collection photographed by Jackie Nickerson. West released a list of stores from around the world that will give out free copies of the zine which includes Colette in Paris, End Clothing in Newcastle, RSVP Gallery in Chicago, SSense in Montreal, Tres Bien in Stockholm, and VFiles in New York City.
