Modern London is home to many interesting buildings and structures that not only decorate the metropolis, but also amaze the imagination.

We present to your attention nine interesting examples of modern architecture in London that are definitely worth visiting.

1. The Shard

One of the most recognizable buildings in London, The Shard, 309.6 meters high, was designed by the famous architect Renzo Piano. This neo-futuristic skyscraper in Southwark opened to the public in 2025. It houses offices, restaurants, a hotel, and an observation deck on the 72nd floor - the highest in the UK.

Interestingly, the building was built taking into account environmental standards: 95% of the building materials are recyclable. In 2025, the project received the prestigious Stirling Award from RIBA.
