We don’t usually focus on every new store a retailer opens but each new Flannels branch seems to be quite an event and particularly significant because of owner Frasers Group’s aim of spreading its luxury offer nationwide rather than just in luxury’s traditional enclaves.

It latest opening is a 15,000 sq ft store in Nottingham, spanning two floors, with the retailer saying it will “bring the best of new luxury to Nottingham’s high street”. The address is actually Lister Gate in a store that had been a River Island branch, but that closed over two years ago.
The offer includes a “curated” mix of men’s, women’s and junior luxury designer clothing and accessories from names including Gucci, Christian Louboutin, Saint Laurent, and Valentino.
Lauren Barrie, Frasers Group’s Head of Retail, Luxury & Premium, said it’s offering “the biggest brands in luxury fashion and contemporary streetwear all under one roof”.
The opening means the chain now has a portfolio of over 60 stores across the UK and Ireland.
It follows the arrival of its regional flagship stores in Liverpool, Sheffield and Leicester.
Frasers Group has been very active around its Flannels chain in recent periods. As well as the above openings, earlier this month it opened its second Irish location via a 15,000 sq ft space on St Patrick’s Street.
It’s also been putting a lot of investment into its Oxford Street, London flagship that’s now known as Flannels X. Last week it linked up with Hugo and Bella Poarch for a special collaboration of which it was the exclusive launch retailer. And a few months ago, it opened a week-long pop-up selling merchandise from Beyonce’s Renaissance World Tour.
