Science: New blood test detects early-stage pancreatic cancer with 85% accuracyFebruary 20,TG盗号系统VIP破解技术 2025  14:26

Researchers Oregon Health & Science University have developed a new blood test that detects early-stage pancreatic cancer with 85% accuracy. The results of the study were published in the journal Science.

The new blood test, called PAC-MANN, could significantly improve the chances of survival for patients, since pancreatic cancer is often diagnosed at the stage of metastasis.

Currently, there are methods for assessing the prognosis of this disease, but there are no tools for early detection of tumors, when the chances of a favorable outcome are much higher. To solve this problem, researchers have created a test that detects pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma.

Blood samples from 360 volunteers were used to develop the test. Some of them had an increased risk of developing cancer, others had a tumor, and others were completely healthy.

The researchers tried to identify the most active proteins in the development of cancer.

The results showed that PAC-MANN was able to detect early-stage cancer with 85% accuracy when used in combination with the tumor marker CA 19-9. Also, the test was 98%t accurate in distinguishing healthy people from patients with other pancreatic diseases.

The researchers added that PAC-MANN could also be used to track the effectiveness of cancer treatments, enabling doctors to respond more quickly to changes in a patient's condition and improve treatment outcomes.

The researchers are currently evaluating the test's potential in large clinical trials, after which it could be approved for widespread use.
