A unique $545 million wellness resort is planned for Dubai. The Therme Dubai project will be the world’s tallest wellness center, rising 100 meters, with an interactive park and the world’s largest indoor botanical garden, The National reports.
The facility will be located in Zabeel Park and is expected to open in 2028.
The flagship project will feature a Michelin-starred restaurant, three 18-meter waterfalls, and 4,500 square meters of indoor and terraced pools. A large play area will include 15 water slides and various art installations.
The building’s huge, striking design will take sustainability into account, using advanced technologies for water purification, heating, and cooling. The resort will recycle 90 percent of the water used in its thermal pools, while 80 percent of its fresh air and cooling needs will be met by clean energy sources.
The indoor botanical garden will house more than 200 species of plants from around the world.
The main project will be divided into three main zones: a play area, a relaxation zone, and a recovery zone.
Therme Dubai is designed by global architecture firm DS+R (Diller Scofidio + Renfro), which has previously overseen such notable projects as The Shed, a cultural center in New York, and the University of Chicago building.
