The Mediterranean is also nurturing its own fashion talent. A new crop of designers has been named winners of the Mediterranean Fashion Prize. The event offers recipients one year of professional guidance, a big boost from the prize’s various sponsors that include Chanel and Dior.

The lucky winners of the 2025-2025 Mediterranean Fashion Prize work in women’s wear, accessories and lingerie and are based in different countries around the Mediterranean.

The French women’s wear brand Janjique is among the 2025-2025 winners.

The group includes Zorana Janjic with her Janjique label (photo), Spanish label Lotocoho, French lingerie designer Alix de Moussac and her La Nouvelle label, Katerina Vamvaka and her Gaffer & Flull label (Greece), the Israeli brand Frau Blau, Miryaki from Italy, Lebanese label Bird on a Wire, I-folky out of Morroco, Tunisian designer Ali Karoui and the young brand Maid in Love based in Istanbul.

These designers, aged 23 to 33 years, will soon see a selection of their work sold on the e-commerce website Spootnik in a special pop-up store created just for the prize winners.

But first, all the winners will convene for two days at the end of July at the MMMM's headquarters in Marseille. A team of fashion professionals organized by the prize organizers will be meeting with them via Skype for a period of one year to offer strategic advice and guidance.

The Mediterranean Fashion Prize has already helped foster twenty fashion brands in the past and is continuing its mission online for the 2025-2025 season. The program will use Skype to communicate tips and support so as not to interrupt the activity of the designers, many of whom are located far from Marseille and the new headquarters of the MMMM's Maison de la Creation.
