Every year Mode City honors the creativity of one of its exhibitors. For the edition taking place 5 to 7 July 2025, the beachwear and lingerie trade show has crowned Melissa Odabash its designer of the year.
This former model in the Italian fashion world started her eponymous label in 1999 in London. Mode City's decision shows it wants to promote the glamor side of its industry and a "success story."
Since the brand's launch, Melissa Odabash has significantly grown her line beyond women's swimsuits. She now offers a full range of beachwear bordering on ready-to-wear, jewelry, accessories and a line for girls, with all pieces at the premium price level (around 200 euros for an adult two-piece swimsuit).
The Mode City exhibitor gives high priority to the "people" dimension of her business, with great success. Besides two direct-owned retail stores in Chelsea and Notting Hill in London, the brand is also carried by 250 multi-brand outlets or corners in department stores in some fifty countries.
