Fashion photographer Bruce Weber will be the recipient of this year’s Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator, announced the British Fashion Council on Monday.

The American photographer is mostly known for his ad campaigns for Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, Pirelli and Versace and his signature stripped-back black and white photography.
His iconic images first graced the pages of GQ Magazine in the 1970’s, and he went on to work with fashion magazines such as Elle, Interview, Rolling Stone, Vanity Fair Vogue, producing some of the most creative fashion imagery to date.
Bruce Weber has also ventured into film and documentary making. Films like Chop Suey played with cinema and photography to create a new kind of introspection, whilst documentaries like Let’s Get Lost and Broken Noses won him an Oscar nomination.
Additionally, Weber has published over 37 books including A House Is Not A Home and Bear Pond, and his work has been showcased in over 60 exhibitions worldwide.
His vast catalogue of work is anchored by his erotic and stylish portraits of models, musicians, actors, artists and creators of all kind.
“Bruce’s endurance is testament to his pure talent, his undeniable creativity and his singular warmth and generosity. His expansive body of work in photography and film is iconic, and he himself is rightly an icon of the creative fashion community. He is one of the foremost photographers and creative talents of our age who has helped shape the fashion industry we know today and I have a great deal of admiration for him,” said Dame Natalie Massenet, Chairman of the British Fashion Council.
He will be honoured at The Fashion Awards 2025 ceremony on Monday 5 December at the Royal Albert Hall.
Previous winners of the Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator include Nick Knight OBE and Professor Louise Wilson OBE.
