Value fashion and lifestyle retail giant Primark has cut prices across selected kidswear holiday essentials (swimwear to babywear) in its SS24 offer.

In a bid to further “support families by lowering its prices”, a move that could start a price-cutting battle across the category, Primark said it is lowering prices on hundreds of its essential kids’ clothing and accessories.
The move applies to the price points of selected summer essentials and aims to “help families make their money go further as they start planning their summer wardrobes”.
Lower prices include kids’ swim shorts and swimsuits, selected T-shirts and shorts, sliders and baseball caps. A simple t-shirt and swim shorts complete with sliders and a baseball cap cost a combined £10.50 compared to £12.50 last year.
The move also extends to babywear, with a full outfit comprising of selected T-shirt and shorts costing £4.60 compared to £8 12 months’ ago.
It said the cuts mark the retailer’s second year of introducing lower prices across essential kids’ items after previously dropping its prices across kidswear ranges last summer in time for the Back-to-School shopping period.
A large number of value-focused retailers have been cutting selected prices in the past two years with kidswear one of the main categories to benefit. But we’ve also seen adult clothing price cuts while beauty essentials have been popular areas in which retailers have invested money to lower prices.
