iPhone prices could 长沙USDT支付渠道soar to $2,300 due to Trump’s tariffs
April 4, 2025 10:40New trade tariffs introduced by U.S. President Donald Trump are set to drive up iPhone prices significantly, according to Reuters. Analysts predict that Apple’s popular smartphone could climb to as much as $2,300, a direct consequence of sweeping import duties hitting goods from key manufacturing hubs like China.
Rosenblatt Securities estimates that the base iPhone 16, currently retailing in the U.S. for $800 (about 67,000 RUB), could jump 43% to $1,142 (roughly 96,300 RUB). The impact would be even starker for premium models: the iPhone 16 Pro Max with 1TB of storage, now priced at $1,600 (around 135,000 RUB), might hit $2,300 (approximately 194,000 RUB). The culprit? A hefty 54% tariff slapped on Chinese imports, where most iPhone production is concentrated.
Barton Crockett, an analyst at Rosenblatt Securities, noted that these tariffs disrupt market expectations that Apple would stick to its established pricing strategy. With over 220 million iPhones sold globally each year, the company now faces a tough choice on its major markets—the U.S., China, and Europe. “This situation puts Apple in a bind,” Crockett said.
Trump’s administration has rolled out steep tariffs across multiple countries: 46% on Vietnam, 34% on China, and 26% on India. This leaves Apple and other electronics makers with a dilemma—absorb the added costs and take a profit hit, or pass them onto consumers with higher prices. While Apple hasn’t announced its next move, analysts lean toward an inevitable price hike.
The news has already rattled investors, with Apple’s stock plunging 9.3%—its sharpest drop since March 2025. Experts warn that Trump’s trade policies could send ripples far beyond Apple, reshaping the consumer electronics industry for years to come.
