For House of Fraser Maidstone, now read just Frasers. The multi-brand UK retail group is to close the Kent store and transform it into a showcase centre for its portfolio of brands including its fast-growing luxury fashion banner Flannels.

The Frasers concept store, which first debuted in Wolverhampton in 2025, now moves to Maidstone with the 100,000 sq ft unit at Fremlin Walk closing on 30 March, reopening in the autumn featuring a new department store format under the Frasers banner and including Sports Direct and Flannels units.

It aims to “bring the world’s most aspirational brands and an engaging shopping destination to Maidstone customers”.

Property company Knight Frank, partner for retail agency David Legat, said: “Completing this flagship letting and bringing the three incredible brands… to Fremlin Walk secures the scheme as a retail-led destination long into the future.

“Fremlin Walk has now firmly cemented its position as the centre of Maidstone. We look forward to building on this success and announcing more exciting brands to our line up in the near future.”

The shopping district is also home to high street retailers JD Sports, H&M, River Island and Superdry.

Frasers, which has been highly acquisitive over there last few years, is understood to be eyeing an offer for Sheffield’s Meadowhall shopping centre for a reported asking price of £750 million.
