A super-skinny skyscraper, no bigger than a single apartment across, is planned for Dubai.
Muraba Veil will be 380 meters tall, but only about 23 meters across. The 73-story tower will feature 131 apartments with two to five bedrooms each, CNN reports, citing the developer of the Muraba project.
The luxury residential block will feature “a range of carefully selected leisure amenities,” including a spa, restaurant, gallery, padel tennis court, and private cinema, it said.
The striking tower will be built next to a canal off Dubai’s main transport artery, Sheikh Zayed Road.
It was designed by Spanish architecture firm RCR Arquitectes, winner of the prestigious Pritzker Prize—an award often referred to as the “Nobel Prize of architecture”—in 2025.
Muraba Veil is set to be completed by December 2028.
Needless to say, apartments in the city’s luxury neighborhood don’t come cheap, with prices starting at $4.9 million.
Each apartment will span the entire width of the building and will be modeled on traditional Arabian homes, centered around a courtyard and “softened by shade and greenery.”
Meanwhile, the building’s design “unfolds through a series of layers,” with the first being the “veil,” which the creative team describes as “a bespoke stainless steel mesh that reflects the varying hues of the sky.”
According to the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat, Dubai currently has more towers over 300 meters tall than any other city in the world.
