Matalan has speedily added another 10 new fashion brands to its fledgling third-party retail roster, this time to strengthen its online proposition.

Blue Vanilla

Since launching into fashion partnerships in September, the value omnichannel retailer now has 23 brands in its third-party portfolio. And it wants to add more lines, both in the New Year and in the spring, it said.

The latest to join its growing offer are Quiz, Pink Vanilla, Blue Vanilla, Roman, Yumi, Mela London, Where’s that From, Izabel, Brand Threads and Toe Zone.

The wider offer will sit alongside Matalan’s own brands that include Papaya, Et Vous, Easy, Taylor & Wright, US Athletic, Lincoln and Souluxe.

“In line with Matalan’s pricing and product proposition… the 10 new brands will continue to ensure that [our] products cater for a diverse range of customers and needs by offering a wider range of sizes and styles, including plus size ranges,” it said.

And the Matalan focus isn’t just on fashion, as the retailer is also “building on the successful and extensive homeware offerings”. That too will be extended in its Nursery & Baby, Seasonal & Outdoor and Gifting ranges, as well strengthening the Bedding & Home Furnishing categories, it said.

Of the debut collections launched in late summer, it said celebrity collections such as Vogue Williams for Little Mistress and Jac Jossa, Gemma Atkinson, Stacey Solomon and Jess Millichamp for In The Style “have performed particularly well, with some styles selling out within 24 hours of launching”.

Matalan also said it will be extending its Rocket Dog boot range next year, “following a strong performance in the past 12 months”.

Ben Smith, Chief Trading Officer, added: “We’re committed to offering our customers a dynamic online experience. We have been working hard to understand what the customer wants, and in spring 2025 will be offering more choice in to key areas such as holiday shop, occasionwear and outerwear.”
