Battersea Power Station will be creating a 1950s-inspired hair and beauty pop-up as part of its first anniversary since reopening as a key retail and entertainment destination on London’s southbank.

Between 21 and 29 October, the temporary space will be part of the centre’s ‘Behind the Bricks’ festival aimed to “transport visitors back to the decade when one half of the London icon was built”.
The ‘Power Parlour’ pop-up, in Turbine Hall B, will offer a range of 1950s-inspired hair treatments from Blush + Blow London, beauty looks from MAC Cosmetics and barbering from R.W. Wolf. Visitors will also be able to enjoy cocktails provided by 1950s-inspired all-day bar Control Room B while having their makeovers.
The multibillion-pound Battersea destination has become a strong hub for beauty retail brands including Chanel, Aesop, MAC, Rituals, Space NK, and The Body Shop.
Meanwhile, UK health & beauty retail giant Boots is debuting a beauty-only flagship store there. Set across 11,200 sq ft, the beauty studio will showcase over 250 brands across cosmetics, skincare and haircare, but will also include several new UK-exclusive brands and ranges from female-owned companies.
Chanel is the most recent brand to endorse the mall development opening a new beauty and eyewear store there in May and premium beauty retailer Aesop has an expansive ground floor space on the station’s historic turbine hall “making playful allusions to mid-century sci-fi cinema, while taking cues from the landmark building in which it is housed”.
