A large number of UK stores will be closed on Monday, which has been declared a public holiday to coincide with the Queen’s funeral.

Harrods, Selfridges, John Lewis, Next, Zara, Primark, Hackett, Pepe Jeans, Apple, Sainsbury’s, Argos, Aldi, Lidl, many Tesco stores, and others will shut for the day as both their customers and staff stay at home to watch the funeral.
However, plenty of shopping centres will be open, although it's likely that the majority of the stores within them will stay closed. Some shopping centre operators have said that they will be relaying the funeral on screens. Hammerson, for instance, will do that.
The company owns major centres such as the Bullring and Grand Central in Birmingham, as well as Highcross in Leicester, Brent Cross in London, Cabot Circus in Bristol and Centrale & Whitgift in Croydon.
A number of supermarkets and convenience stores will stay open too, and there will also be the usual public holiday pharmacy cover. This is particularly expected to be the case in London which will be extremely crowded on the day with many people needing to buy essentials.
