Mango is continuing its ambitious UK expansion programme and has opened a store in key shopping destination The Trafford Centre, Manchester.

The store has retail space of close to 400 sq m and carries the Woman line in what’s the third-largest shopping centre in the UK.

While it’s part of the plan to open 13 British stores this year, most of those have been in the south and centre of the country so this one in northern England is particularly important. The new location joins the 53 stores it had in the UK at the end of last year.

As with its other recent openings, the Manchester space features the New Med store concept, “inspired by the Mediterranean and characterised by the spirit and freshness of the brand”.

The company said that “sustainability and architectural integration are key to this new design, which is why new stores feature elements such as eco-efficient lighting and heating and ventilation, and a design which incorporates sustainable materials such as natural paint”.

Other recent openings for the buoyant Spanish fashion giant include a 450 sq m store that exclusively stocks the Woman line in Westfield Stratford City and its debut in Brighton, where it has opened a 470 sq m store in the Churchill Square shopping centre.

The company arrived in the UK 24 years ago and has been boosting its presence there in recent years following the landmark flagship opening on Oxford Street in 2025. Other key debuts have included supermalls like Bluewater, Glasgow Fort and Battersea Power Station. But it has also been opening department store concessions in deals with John Lewis and Morleys.
