L’Oréal USA announced on Monday the five recipients of the 2025 For Women in Science Fellowship. The recipients, Carolyn “Anela” Choy, Shruti Naik, Amy Orsborn, Laura Sampson and Moriel Zelikowsky, will be awarded $60,000 grants to advance their postdoctoral research. In addition, they will Visit the White House, National Academy of Sciences, New Jersey Public School and L'Oréal Headquarters.

The 2025 candidates were evaluated based on their intellectual merit, research potential, scientific excellence and their commitment to supporting women and girls in science. Choy is a postdoctoral fellow in biological oceanography and marine ecology at the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute (MBARI); Naik researches immunology and stem cell biology at The Rockefeller University; Orsborn is a postdoctoral scientist in neuroscience at NYU; Sampson is focused on physics at Northwestern University's Center for Interdisciplinary Exploration and Research in Astrophysics (CIERA) and Zelikowsky is a postdoctoral neuroscientist in the Department of Biology & Biological Engineering at the California Institute of Technology.

The For Women in Science Fellowship has awarded 65 postdoctoral women scientists over $3 million grants over the last 13 years. The L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science International Awards was created in 1998 to recognize Laureates for their contributions to the advancement of life or physical sciences.
L'Oréal USA will host an award ceremony for the fellows on Thursday, October 6 in Washington DC.
