The grand opening of Battersea Power Station as a giant shopping mall this Friday will see the debut there of Rituals’ latest store, which will also be its first “premium” location. The company said it’s also its first flagship wellbeing hub.

Rituals UK and Ireland MD Penny Grivea said the new location is “a tranquil space and features a Hair Temple, offering guests the opportunity to create a luxurious personalised hair ritual by discovering the most suitable elixir for their haircare formula”.

An in-store skincare consultation station will also offer customers “guidance on achieving healthier, happier skin”.

And the store’s World of Sleep is “designed to offer sophisticated luxury with our new premium home and lifestyle collections to help our customers relax, unwind and achieve a peaceful night’s rest”.

The company has been expanding fast across the UK in recent periods but the new Battersea store shows how labels really pulling out all the stops for one of London’s biggest retail developments in recent decades.

For Rituals, the opening day and weekend will come with a number of special offers, including goodie bags, free gifts and free product personalisation.

Battersea Power Station has managed to attract a slew of big-name retailers at varying price ranges from the mass-market — such as Uniqlo — to the higher end — such as Mulberry.

The beauty offer is a strong one there, as is the sports selection and it was only revealed in recent days that Nike has taken a store there. That will see it trading close to major rival Adidas, which is also opening a large store at BPS.

The arrival of Nike is perhaps unsurprising as earlier this year, the company had clearly appreciated the value of the location as a way to get its brand message across when it projected an image of England footballer Lucy Bronze onto the front of the Power Station to show support for the Lionesses at the Euros 2025.
