Guess Europe is reviewing its operations. In the last few months, the US brand has been undergoing major changes in its top management and strategy, and has decided to modify its European structure.
It has notably decided to transfer its design and product management teams, until now based in Italy, to its Swiss facilities in Lugano. According to the Italian media, who have met in Florence with the unions and the disgruntled employees, the management appears to have proposed that the teams move to Switzerland.
The employees have spoken out against the strategy, as well as the suppression of 90 out of 180 jobs at the Italian headquarters. Italian media stated that only the commercial teams are expected to remain in the country.
