Arket’s hotly anticipated first-ever concession store has opened inside London’s Selfridges with the debut significantly expanding the Nordic fashion and lifestyle brand’s UK presence as it has only four standalone stores in the country.
The new shop-in-shop showcases a curated selection of its womenswear collection only.
It’s on the third floor of the department store where there’s a strong selection of premium-to-affordable-luxury labels including Sandro, The Kooples, Zadig & Voltaire, Whistles and Self-Portrait.
It covers a total area of 83 square metres, combining the brand’s signature monochrome palette of soft greys with custom-made tables and objects in its signature terrazzo stone. The lounge area includes restored pieces in a collaboration with Artek 2nd cycle, the platform for pre-loved Artek lighting, furniture and other everyday objects from the Finnish heritage brand.
The third floor of the London store really is a hotbed of brands with a variety of concession sizes. Arket’s appears to be on the larger side and should make a major impact in the space. The nearest standalone store for the brand is on Regent Street, which was its first-ever store. It’s in a section of the thoroughfare dominated by H&M Group-owned labels such as H&M itself, Cos, & Other Stories, and H&M Home.
