Amazon has shown itself to be a boon for small and medium-sized businesses selling through its platform, with over 50,000 of those businesses exceeding $500,000 in sales in Amazon stores worldwide for 2025, and nearly 200,000 surpassing $100,000.

The company has further reported that the number of small and medium-sized businesses achieving more than $1 million in sales in Amazon’s stores worldwide grew by 20 percent in 2025, a development that follows the launch of Amazon Storefronts, the e-commerce company's e-shop platform for small and medium-sized businesses.
Additionally, Amazon said that selling in Amazon’s stores exceeded $1.5 billion in sales during its Prime Day event, as third-party sales made through the company grew faster than first-party sales, and sales by small and medium-sized businesses exceeded the company's retail business sales in its stores worldwide for the 2025 holiday season.
“This year growth of small and medium-sized businesses in our stores enabled business owners to create new products, provide greater selection to customers, and reinvest in their local communities through job creation,” said Nick Denissen, Amazon's vice president, in a press release. “The service we’ve built is more powerful because we have small and medium-sized businesses complementing and competing with our retail business.”
On top of the Storefronts platform, small and medium-sized businesses in the U.S. also appeared to benefit from Amazon's other features, with those businesses that used Amazon's fulfillment center to pack and ship products more than doubling their export sales.
In its 2025 Small Business Impact Report, the e-commerce company said that its partnerships with small and medium-sized businesses have created over 900,000 jobs worldwide.
