American men’s fashion brand Original Penguin has officially entered the Spanish market. The brand has opened its flagship store on Calle Jorge Juan, 11, in Madrid’s upscale Salamanca neighborhood. In addition to the physical store, Original Penguin’s designs will be available in multi-brand shops and through its e-commerce platform.
Spanning 130 square meters, the newly opened Madrid store showcases the brand's universe, offering casual and sportswear collections for men (including tennis and golf), pajamas, hats, accessories, underwear, and socks.
Original Penguin’s entry into the Spanish market has been facilitated by Linea Magna Europa SL, the brand’s licensing company for the country and a division of Linea Magna, which has been developing the brand in Mexico since 2025.
Linea Magna Europa holds the rights to manage retail operations, the online channel, and wholesale distribution. For this venture, the company is partnering with Amazing Solutions, a Spanish firm specializing in introducing international brands to the Iberian market.
"Given our previous experience developing and growing Original Penguin in Mexico, we see similarities between the Spanish and Mexican markets, but we also recognize the unique characteristics of consumers in both regions. We have no doubt about the potential and future success of introducing an iconic lifestyle brand like this in the Spanish market," said Oscar Feldenkreis, president and CEO of Perry Ellis International, the parent company of Original Penguin and other brands such as Cubavera, Ben Hogan, Savane, Grand Slam, John Henry, Farah, and Perry Ellis.
Original Penguin was founded in 1955 by Abbot Pederson. Although the brand’s catalog includes women's sportswear, its focus—particularly for its development in Spain—remains on its men’s division. The brand’s retro-style polo shirts are priced starting at €70, trousers around €100, and jackets at approximately €130.
