Independent luxury jewellers Laings is opening a new TAG Heuer boutique on Glasgow’s Buchanan Street, creating eight jobs to support the growing partnership it has with the brand.
The store, which will open later this year, becomes the Scottish retailer’s first monobrand boutique with TAG Heuer.
Aligning with Laings’ ambitious wider programme of expansion under way in central Glasgow, the TAG Heuer space will be located in the heart of the city’s ‘style mile’, in a site previously occupied by fashion label Diesel.
The showroom will include an interactive display area showcasing “cutting-edge technology”, as well as a lounge, “along with the usual level of privacy and confidentiality, which has become synonymous with Laings”.
“The partnership highlights a key emphasis for Laings on the importance of investment in bricks and mortar retail, despite the current economic landscape. [We are]committed to ensuring luxury retail experiences are accessible to clients and has confidence in the chosen location within one of the most premium postcodes in the city,” it said.
MD Stuart McDowell added: “Our boutique will offer an immersive experience for our clients, showcasing its world-renowned Swiss watchmaking expertise, passion for precision and cutting-edge technology.
The news follows Laings announcing it’s investing £5 million in a new flagship store in Rowan House on Glasgow’s Buchanan Street. The move is part of its multi-layer growth strategy “to build on its legacy as a leading destination for luxury jewellery and watches”.
