As repair services become an ever bigger part of the luxury sector, repair and resale specialist The Handbag Clinic has opened a concession in Harrods in London.

It’s offering its full range of repair and restoration services for both bags and shoes in the luxury department store, as well as buying and selling luxury bags. The offer fits well with the big-name retailer’s own sustainability plan, dubbed Harrods Path.
The aim is to drive a more conscious attitude to buying new products and to focus on aftercare at the same time in order to make these expensive purchases potentially last a lifetime.
The new concession is within the fifth floor Shoe Heaven space and repair prices start at around £20 for minor stitching and can go into the hundreds for more complex work.
The Handbag Clinic restores more than 700 bags a month and its artisans have a strong understanding of what’s needed to get luxury items looking their best again.
Its CEO Charlotte Staerck said the link-up deepens Harrods’ aftercare offering and helps consumers shop more sustainably.
And Harrods’ head of accessories and shoes, Josie Gardner, said it selected The Handbag Clinic as its staff are “trailblazers in restoration and rejuvenation services and provide the best opportunity to extend the lifecycle of our customers’ cherished items, ensuring their pieces stay in beautiful condition, for longer”.
