Abu Dhabi is set to get the world’s second Sphere. This unique spherical structure is in line with the UAE capital’s Tourism Vision 2030, which aims to “further transform Abu Dhabi into a vibrant hub of culture and innovation,” said Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi.
“By hosting cutting-edge entertainment like the Sphere, we are not only raising our global profile, but also setting new standards in immersive experiences and cultural offerings,” Al Mubarak said.
This announcement did not provide details on the exact location of the new venue, but said it would be on a par with the 20,000-seat Sphere in Las Vegas, which opened in September 2025—and with a series of concerts by international rock stars.
The Las Vegas structure, 112 meters high and 157 meters wide, is considered the largest spherical structure in the world. Inside, it boasts the world's highest-resolution LED screen. And its exterior is equipped with 1.2 million hockey-puck-sized LEDs that can be programmed to flash dynamic images on a massive scale. The Vegas Sphere cost $2.3 billion to build.
