It might seem hard to believe, but British Vogue has been around for a hundred years this year. Launched in 1916, it is celebrating its centennial in true Vogue style - by launching truly lustworthy limited-edition fashion items together with five different designers.

British heritage fashion brand Burberry has made 100 gabardine lace trench coats for Vogue, and Jimmy Choo's Hanover sandal, which has been made in 100 pairs, was named after Hanover Square, where British Vogue has its head office. Mappin & Webb has contributed 50 sterling-silver bracelets, while Christian Dior has come up with an exclusive red, white, blue and black Diorama bag, of which there are only 30. Thirsty Vogue fans should turn to Moet & Chandon, which has embellished 400 bottles of champagne with Vogue spelled in diamanté.

Vogue has also announced the dates for this year's Vogue Festival. Sponsored by Harrods, it promises to be bigger and better than ever. It will take place on May 21 and 22 with the theme being the centennial birthday. A specially themed Vogue World will be located on the East Albert Lawn in Kensington Gardens and at the Royal Geographic Society.

"This is an exceptional year for British Vogue and we are planning a wonderful festival to celebrate our 100 years," said Alexandra Shulman, Vogue editor-in-chief. "Harrods is helping us to create a two-day event unlike any other, allowing the general public access to the talents and expertise of the world of Vogue."

The milestone affair will feature events, talks and activities, including workshops, makeovers, career masterclasses and super tutorials, as well as interviews with fashion industry insiders.

"The Vogue Festival has become one of the most eagerly anticipated weekends on our fashion calendar and, this year, Harrods is delighted to be partnering with Vogue for the third year running," said Harrods's fashion director Helen David. "Harrods has been synonymous with fashion for over 120 years and is home to the world's leading brands. We look forward to bringing elements of our luxury department store to life during what promises to be an engaging, innovative and inspiring weekend."
