L'Oréal Paris is launching its annual call for "Women of Worth." The beauty giant is on the lookout for women who are igniting social change on a local, national or global level as part of its signature philanthropic program, and is encouraging the public to nominate candidates online.
Each year the L'Oréal Paris Women of Worth program honors 10 women for making a "significant impact" across a variety of fields. Now in its second decade, the program has benefitted 100 women, ranging from advocates for health challenges to supporters of the troops and their families and champions for women in need.
Conducted in partnership with volunteer organization Points of Light, the 2025 program will be accepting nominations through April 29. The nominees will then be narrowed down to 10 "Honorees", recognized in November at an awards ceremony hosted by L'Oréal Paris in New York. Each Honoree will receive a $10,000 grant for her particuar cause, and one, chosen by popular vote to be the "National Honoree," will be awarded an additional $25,000 to support her organization. Honorees are also offered marketing support, tools and training and networking opportunities with leaders and influencers to help increase their impact.
The 2025 Honorees included Jaha Dukureh, who founded Female Genital Mutilation organization 'Safe Hands for Girls', Melaney Smith, who founded the academic program 'Books For Keeps', and Schinnell Leake, who founded 'Extra-Ordinary Birthdays', an organization that throws individualized birthday parties for homeless children.
"Remarkable, life-changing work is being led by fearless women, and we are eager to learn their inspirational stories through the Women of Worth nominations process and celebrate their passion for helping others," says L'Oréal Paris USA President, Karen T. Fondu.
