Barely three months before the Olympic Games kick off in Paris, scores of retail names have opened stores on the Champs-Elysées in the French capital, notable among them JD Sports and Levi’s. The latest was French luggage brand Delsey Paris, which opened in April at number 30-32 on what is said to be the world’s most beautiful avenue. The 512-square-metre monobrand store is Delsey Paris’s first in France.

“We moved very quickly. We came across this great opportunity to open a flagship on the Champs-Elysées last January, and we inaugurated the store on April 15,” said Miriam Hendel, head of marketing and digital at Delsey Paris, adding that the French market accounts for 20% of the brand’s revenue.

Delsey Paris claims to be Europe’s leader in the premium luggage segment, and to rank number three worldwide. At the new two-storey flagship, Delsey Paris is showcasing its complete range, from hardside suitcases such as the Chatelet Air 2.0 and the Shadow 5.0, to products more suited to urban mobility, such as backpacks.

The first floor features a section dedicated to collaborations, such as those with Benetton, Peugeot and Jeep. “With Jeep, we have developed products with a more outdoor feel than ever before,” said Hendel. The store also has an area where the suitcases can be tested on different surfaces, such as carpeting or cobblestones.

In recent years, Delsey Paris has overhauled its product range and corporate identity, and the store’s opening follows the brand’s return to TV advertising in France last November.

Delsey Paris commercialises its collections online and via approximately 6,000 stores in more than 110 countries. It operates 68 monobrand stores outside France, notably in Asia. The brand generates 40% of its revenue in the USA.

After a few troubled years, due to the pandemic and the decline in international travel, Delsey started growing vigorously again, and in 2025 its revenue reached €250 million, up by 20%.

According to French newspaper Le Figaro, the brand’s turnaround could herald a change in ownership. Le Figaroreported that Delsey has asked Rothschild Bank to explore options on this front.
