The power of the Paris catwalk never ceases to attract.

Next January’s Paris menswear runway season has attracted several new star designers, including JW Anderson, Celine and Jil Sander, underling the city’s position as first among equals of the world’s fashion capitals.

Anderson will stage his first ever menswear show on French soil, moving from London after almost a decade of activity there, according to a statement announcing new entrants in the official calendar on Tuesday by the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode, French fashion’s governing body. Anderson will also take a second bow in Paris at Loewe, the historic Spanish label, which has so far only staged menswear presentations in the city.

While Celine will make its debut unique menswear show in January, following on from the debut co-ed collection shown in September by its new designer Hedi Slimane, confirming an exclusive report on FashionNetwork.com.

In other developments, Jil Sander will stage its first ever menswear runway show in Paris. Last season that house just held a presentation. Though founded by a German designer and owned by a Japanese group, Sander has always staged its menswear collections in Milan, generally in its main Italian headquarters.

Paris will also welcome back Raf Simons for a second successive season, after a hiatus of two years when he presented his menswear in New York.

Moreover, Provencal star Simon Porte Jacquemus will also show in Paris; marking his second menswear runway show, following a debut last June on a rocky cove near Marseille.

In other highlights on the calendar include Fumito Ganryu and TakahiramiyashitaThe Soloist, both of Japan, and North America's Heron Preston will take to the runways. Though, arguably, the city’s hottest show will probably be Vetements, from Georgian-born Demna Gvasalia.

Other new entrants on the calendar are Clot (Hong Kong); Maison Kitsuné (France); Oneculture (France); System (Korea) and Wendy Jim (Austria).

Finally, the full official calendar will be revealed online by Friday, Dec. 14.  The next six-day season is scheduled to run from Tuesday, Jan. 15 to Sunday, Jan. 20.
