On September 24, the day before the Balmain fashion show, Balmain Beauty will open its very first boutique at 8 rue des Francs Bourgeois in the heart of the Marais district of Paris. Here, the luxury label led by its iconic artistic director Olivier Rousteing will present its first fragrance collection, 'Les Eternels de Balmain', launched in August. The boutique will then house Balmain's entire beauty range, which is set to be gradually expanded.

With this new outlet, the American cosmetics group Estée Lauder is strengthening its retail network in the Marais district. Estée Lauder, which holds the beauty licence for Balmain, will be opening a new Kilian Paris store in December, in addition to reopening the completely renovated Jo Malone boutique next door at the same number.

The brand, founded in 2007 by Kilian Hennessy, a descendant of the founder of the fine liqueur house and grandson of the founder of luxury group LVMH, will be moving to 40 Rue Vieille du Temple. Passed into the Estée Lauder fold in 2025, the label had already reformulated its Parisian boutique on Rue Cambon in 2025.

At number 1 bis on Rue des Francs Bourgeois, the Estée Lauder group inaugurated the world's first shop for the American makeup brand Bobbi Brown in 1991. The shop was also recently renovated and reopened last April.

Still on the same street, at number 13, visitors find another of the group's brands, Editions de Parfums Frédéric Malle. A stone's throw away, at number 7 Rue Froissart, is the olfactory label Le Labo, which has a boutique, while M.A.C Cosmetics is located at 32 Rue de Sévigné.

However, the Estée Lauder group is not the only one to have made the Marais, and more particularly the Rue des Francs Bourgeois, a shopping destination for prestige beauty brands. Byredo, recently acquired by Puig in 2025, opened its second Parisian shop at 19 Rue des Francs Bourgeois in early September. Caudalie, Kiehl's (L'Oréal group), Guerlain and Diptyque are also present on the street.
