Consumers upload items they want to upcycle and receive customised design proposals “from a diverse network of fashion professionals… enabling a more sustainable and creative approach to fashion”.

Founded by ‘Daisy’, an entrepreneur with over 15 years of experience in the fashion industry (she led the global merchandising outlet team at Burberry), she turned concept into reality by “honing her expertise in luxury fashion and business operations [and] create positive change in the industry”.

The platform “blends creativity, sustainability, and innovation, revolutionising the way people approach second-hand fashion and their wardrobes”, she says.

The community-centric platform also “encourages a circular economy by giving old clothing a new purpose while fostering the
growth of talented designers”.

She added: “We are seeing a shift in how consumers view their clothing. They want to make more sustainable choices, but they also want to be creative with their pieces. Loom empowers them to do both, all while supporting our incredible independent designers.”

Loom’s roster of advisors also includes Pan Phillipou, former CEO of Diesel; Georgie Hyatt, founder of Rotaro; and Stuart Trevor, founder of AllSaints, who also contributes as one of Loom's designers.

Pricing on the platform starts from £30 for simple alterations, £80 for dyeing services and users can also have entire items redesigned, with bridal redesigns (starting from £150) "being particularly popular on the app".
