Avon has poached turnaround expert Kay Nemoto as chief strategy and HR officer from one of its strategic partners to help lead the management and cultural overhaul of the business.
Nemoto joins from Cerberus Operations & Advisory Company, whose of specialists work to improve the performance and efficiency of companies. There, Nemoto was heavily involved in building Avon’s transformation strategy and its plans to ‘Open Up’ to growth, the beauty manufacturer said.
Previously, Nemoto supported turnarounds at multiple companies, and held consultancy and advisory roles at firms including Ernst & Young and AlixPartners.
In her new role, Nemoto will be focused on streamlining the business, driving accountability and accelerating the turnaround plan with the aim of building an organisation that is effective and high performing.
"I'm delighted to be securing talent of Kay's calibre to power our transformation. She has high personal accountability and drive, and a deep understanding of the role that culture plays in delivering our strategy to Open Up Avon,” commented CEO Jan Zijderveld.
