Womenswear retailer Rixo will open a three-month pop-up shop in New York City on 22 April, which will be its first-ever physical presence in the US, and “the start of big US market plans for Rixo”.

The new location will be in the heart of SoHo and will carry a curated selection of the brand's ready-to-wear, occasion and accessories, including the SS24 collections and the popular core collection, plus exclusive pieces available only at the NYC pop-up.
The company said the pop-up “promises an immersive experience where customers can discover the world of Rixo first-hand, explore the latest designs, and indulge in the vibrant prints, flattering fits and luxurious fabrics that have become synonymous with the brand”.
And in addition to the product, it will host a series of events tailored for the #humansofrixo community in NYC. They’ll include “intimate styling sessions, panel talks, shopping events and meet-and-greets with the brand's founders, Henrietta Rix and Orlagh McCloskey”.
Rix said the opening “represents a pivotal moment in Rixo's international expansion plans” and “marks the start of our very exciting plans for the US market”.
The company worked with Casa Angulo, a multidisciplinary design studio, founded by Adalberto Angulo Sosa and Jennifer Paccione Angulo to design the pop-up space.
It sought to “expand on the incredibly defined branding of Rixo and reimagined it in the New York landscape”. That included exclusively procured furniture and decorative items local to NYC, from markets, auctions and local artisans.
It also drew inspiration from from the label’s extensive colour palette and “from the vibrant hues found in Havana, Cuba, hometown of Adalberto Angulo Sosa”.
The NYC debut follows the opening of a pop-up in London inside Selfridges. The concession in the luxury department store is the label’s largest-ever shop-in-shop.
