Pepco is kicking off a major makeover programme for 150 Poundland & Dealz stores in the UK and Ireland this week with “significant investment to give each store a new look and feel, add clothing, homewares and chilled and frozen food”.

Running up to August this year, the ‘Project Evo’ transformations will see each of the stores “get a top-to-bottom refresh making them the best and most up-to-date Poundland or Dealz stores they can be”.
It’s the “first significant investment in the majority of these stores for over five years as both customer aisles and colleague areas get a major renovation”.
And the works will be happening at ultra-fast speeds. The company said “contractors are already on site in 11 locations across the UK & Ireland so stores can be relaunched over the next fortnight”.
This Saturday, refurbishments will complete in Urmston, Keynsham, Darlington and Plymouth in England as well as Dealz stores in Mullingar and Cavan.
And makeovers will complete on 24 February in stores in Keighley, Leeds (Crown Point), Coventry, Chatham and Athlone.
An additional 31 Project Evo makeovers will take place on subsequent Saturdays so 42 stores will be revamped by Easter.
The details of the makeovers include new signage, flooring and lighting while the back office colleague areas will be revamped “to make them better places to work”.
It’s particularly important that all of the stores post-works “will have been reconfigured to offer more baby and kids clothing than ever before”.
Earlier this month Poundland also announced a “complete overhaul of its general merchandise ranges that would see it introduce 2,000 new lines across all its 850+ stores in the UK and Ireland. The new ranges, powered by parent company Pepco Group represent the single biggest change in its general merchandise offer in Poundland’s 30+ years’ history”.
