The French platform La Redoute is expanding internationally by setting up a subsidiary in Italy. The company was already doing well in the country, but was operating from France. It is now opening offices in Milan and has announced the appointment of Loredana Fartade as director of the Italian market.

A graduate of Milan's Bocconi University in International Economics and Management, Loredana Fartade has worked for Christian Dior, Veepee and home furnishings e-tailer Aosom. "With the opening of this office in Milan, we want to be closer to our customers and their needs, as customer orientation is one of the pillars of La Redoute's vision," she said in a statement. The focus will be on the home and decoration offer, rather than on ready-to-wear.
The local team consists of six employees.
In the medium term, La Redoute Italy intends to launch new development projects in the country by workng on the marketplace, but also on its physical presence, which could involve opening pop-up stores and shops.
Today, the company says it achieves more than 35% of its sales abroad, compared to 30% in 2025. "Our international development model is tried and tested. After having established the French brand, we will accelerate thanks to our new subsidiary," says Philippe Berlan, La Redoute's managing director since last year.
The e-tailer's other subsidiaries are located in Belgium, the UK, Switzerland, Portugal and Spain. The export activity has been supervised since January by a new international director, Emmanuelle Cartier.
