Synergies between international fashion runways are growing. Case in point, Gran Canaria Swim Week by Moda Cálida will continue its international deployment strategy through a partnership with Copenhagen Fashion Week, to be held in the Danish capital next August.

As indicated by the organizers, through this collaboration, the Danish Fashion Week and the Canarian catwalk specializing in swimwear aim to "create a fusion of cutting-edge design, cultural exchange, and visionary fashion concepts." The alliance, taking place within Copenhagen's fashion week, will consist of a carefully curated presentation event featuring local and international swimwear designers on Monday, August 7.
This is not the first time the Canarian swimwear runway, a leading reference in the sector in Europe, ventures beyond its borders to showcase the designs of its creators in the context of another fashion week. In March 2025, Gran Canaria Swim Week by Moda Cálida participated in Berlin Fashion Week with an industry presentation event and a professional dinner.
"We are delighted to be part of Copenhagen Fashion Week, a prestigious event that shares our vision of pushing boundaries and fostering creativity," stated Minerva Alonso, counselor for economic development, industry, commerce, and crafts at the Cabildo de Gran Canaria, in a press release.
She added: "This partnership offers an exceptional opportunity for Gran Canaria designers to gain exposure and global recognition, ultimately elevating the entire fashion and lifestyle scene of the island."
With a budget that has increased from 500,000 to 2 million euros in recent years, the program for projecting Canarian fashion goes beyond the celebration of its fashion week, the last edition of which took place in October. It also encompasses promotional activities, local events, grant programs, and even a fashion training school and scholarships.
On the other hand, Copenhagen Fashion Week is scheduled to take place between August 7 and 11, with the participation of brands such as Ganni, Munthe, Remain, Stine Goya, Marimekko, and The Garment. Alongside this event, the Danish capital will host the first joint edition of the fashion fairs CIFF and Revolver.
