Poundland’s ambitious store opening programme is continuing with the company that’s owned by Pepco planning 75 openings or relocations up to December.

It will be the biggest quarter of openings ever for the value retail-focused company that has already been opening new locations at a fast pace in the past year.
The openings will also include the Republic of Ireland on top of a broad spread across the whole of the UK.
The new stores take in the the former Wilko sites it recently acquired and that it has reopened or will reopen under the Poundland banner. Some former M&Co sites are on the list too.
Its new store in Watford in particular will be a big step for the business as it’s relocating to a former John Lewis unit. This is a move that underlines the varying fortunes of the traditional department stores sector compared to value retailers and also highlights how the latter are broadening their offer and operating giant-sized stores in some towns.
All new Poundland stores will carry the Pep&Co clothing line.
