Guests arriving at Gabriela Hearst's Fall 2025 show in the Brooklyn Navy Yard came upon the usual scrum of street-style paparazzi, pointing their cameras at the usual flavor du jour decked out in the designers' clothes.

Only a few astute photographers spotted uber-famous seventies supermodel Lauren Hutton also decked out in Hearst's designs. Though, as usual, the others flocked once a few spotted her.
After the photo op, Hutton dressed in a colorful purple pattern knit cardigan and A-line skirt ensemble with a Native American vibe, chatted with Demi Moore (the two appeared to go way back and have friends in common).
Hutton said that she was at the show as a friend of Gabi's. "We are good friends. We didn't meet on horses because I can't ride like her, though. We met at a charity function to save frogs," Hutton explained, adding. "I don't think she liked me at first, so I sat right down and asked her why and she liked that."
Hutton admitted being slightly surprised that she was so fond of the multi-color and patterned knit. "I've worn tens of thousands of outfits in the sixties and seventies. We used to try on twenty outfits for one page of Vogue. I have fond memories of that," she continued. "I've never worn anything like this because I wouldn't let anyone put anything like that on me. Then I put it, and I was like 'wow,' it was just so wow and loud."
She is a convert now, though, as she compared the cozy knits to wearing swaddling clothes. "It just swaddles you," she said.
Hearst's clothes may be just the ticket for what to wear for her next project.
"I'm writing a book, but I haven't made a deal yet because then it's a date, done deal."
She also let it slip that she had a major fashion cover coming up in May but then retracted, "Oops, I don't think I am supposed to mention that." Whoever it is, it will surely be a treat to see the 78-year-old supermodel on any fashion magazine cover.
