The 49,000 sq ft centre at Northwest Business Park in Dublin will not only supply Schuh’s 10 Irish stores but also fulfil orders made through its Irish, German and EU websites.

It will “further increase Schuh’s omnichannel capabilities, ensuring all customers have access to the best product and best-in-class service”, the retailer said.

The new facility, which also creates 25 new jobs, will offer next-day delivery to the majority of Ireland for omnichannel orders “and ensure that product deliveries to the customer and store are efficient and reliable”.

Schuh also said it will allow for a later cut-off time for store sales replenishment and faster return to the warehouse. “This facility will give Schuh the infrastructure to service European customers more cost-effectively while also offering improved delivery propositions”.

Colin Temple, Schuh managing director, added that the new warehouse “will support our growth plans, create new jobs, and provide best-in-class service to our Irish and European customers.”

The Republic of Ireland facility is the third distribution centre Schuh has opened alongside two other fulfilment centres in Scotland.
