Armenian wines were lauded at the international IWSC 2025 competition, which was held in Georgia—and in cooperation with the Gurjaani Wine Festival and the Georgian National Wine Agency.
The competition received more than 400 bids, including wines and spirits from Georgia, Armenia, and some other countries in the region.
Armenia won more than 30 medals, of which 4 were gold, which is a significant achievement for the country.
Gold medals was awarded to:
- Anamor Grand Reserve 100% Areni Noir Red Dry 2025 (Manukyan Brandy Factory) - awarded 96 points for complex aromas of dark cherry, pomegranate, blueberry, and subtle accents of sage and white pepper. This wine stood out with a soft texture and balanced taste.
- Noah of Areni Noa Reserve 2025 - the judges noted the complex aromatic profile with notes of blackberry, ripe plums and sweet cherries, complemented by nuances of leather and tarragon.
- Moossah Red Dry Wine Areni Noir 2025 (Winged Lion) - for the sophistication of taste and harmonious berry and herbal notes.
- Amber By Moossah 2025 (Winged Lion) - for the rich aroma of honey, dried fruits, and floral notes.
The autochthonous Areni variety was a key element in the success of the Armenian participants. The judges noted that it showed its versatility through a wide range of styles—from classic to more innovative—with the best examples standing out for their sophistication, balance, and complexity of taste.
Armenian winemakers once again confirmed their high level, and continued to strengthen their positions in the international arena.
