Luxury maison Hermès has reopened the doors of its expanded and newly relocated store within Shenzhen’s landmark MixC mall.
Located in the Chinese city’s Luohu Central Business District, the reopened Shenzhen store was designed by Parisian architecture agency RDAI, and draws inspiration from Shenzhen’s "innovative spirit," according to a press release.
Outside, a façade clad in jade-coloured enamel and ceramic pillars welcomes visitors, alongside large street-level windows. Set over one floor, the store's dual entries are marked by the Parisian firm's Faubourg motif, set in amber, green and mother-of-pearl terrazzo. Inside, the store is full of natural light, with high ceilings and a palette of neutral tones.
The women’s silk and fashion jewellery area lead onto the firm's beauty and perfumes area to the right. The home and equestrian areas then connect to the women’s, men’s, and leather goods collections, while jewellery and watches can be found in contemporary space outfitted by botanically inspired carpets.
In addition to the French brand's latest collections, a selection of artworks from the Émile Hermès collection are also on display, including a painting from French artist Jean-Luc Favero hang and artwork by modern French illustrator Alain Biet, as well images from the Hermès Collection of Contemporary Photographs.
In its most recent trading update, the luxury giant reported a solid rise in third-quarter sales, continuing to outshine rivals hit hard by a downturn in China.
Hermès currently operates 34 stores across China.
