A cup of tea or coffee for almost $1,500? A new café in Dubai has gone viral, thanks to this unique offer.

Boho Café, located in the Emirates Financial Towers, has a predominantly Indian menu where affordable street food is presented alongside luxurious dishes fit for royalty.

But it was this cafe’s “royal menu” that caught the eye. Boho offers exquisite, gold-infused creations, such as the Gold Karak Tea for $50. And for those looking for the ultimate in luxury, the Gold Souvenir Karak Tea and Coffee for $1,360 each, served in a silver cup and saucer to take home.

Other “gold” delicacies include gold coffee ($50), gold water ($100), gold burger ($100), and gold ice cream ($108)—all with 24-karat edible gold flakes.

“We genuinely want to offer something special—both in terms of price and experience. The gold-infused dishes are for those who want to indulge, but at the same time, we offer great food at affordable prices for everyone else,” says owner Sucheta Sharma.

However, the cost of a cup of tea has drawn varying reactions—from curiosity to anger. Some see this experience as a unique luxury, whereas others criticize it as an excessive extravagance.

“I never in my wildest dreams imagined that I would have to borrow money just to have tea,” wrote a netizen.

“Whether it’s gold or not, it will end up in the toilet,” noted another.
