Florida-based bridal powerhouse Alfred Angelo filed bankruptcy earlier this year and is now liquidating 30,000 bridal gowns and dresses at seven of its remaining US store locations.

The liquidation will include bridal gowns, mother of the bride dresses, bridesmaid and flower girl dresses. It will also include special occasion and prom dresses.
The bridal chain caused controversy in August when it filed bankruptcy and went dark immediately, leaving brides with existing dress orders confused as to whether they would receive their dresses for their weddings. A social media movement occurred when married women began offering their dresses on Twitter to brides affected by Alfred Angelo's closure.
Now Alfred Angelo is holding liquidation sales at seven US locations. Wedding gowns originally priced just under $6,000 are being liquidated for $300 a dress. Special occasion dresses that were originally sold for close to $600 will be sold for $100 each.
Alfred Angelo was founded in the 1930s and was a mainstay in the bridal industry for decades. The chain at one time had 60 stores in the US and 2,500 globally in 34 countries. It filed bankruptcy in August and announced it would close all retail locations and manufacturing facilities.
The liquidation sales are taking place beginning Monday, October 1st at seven Alfred Angelo stores in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Atlanta, Texas, Arizona and two Florida locations. Solid Asset Solutions, LLC, a bankruptcy management service, is conducting the liquidation sale.
