In a further boost to the regeneration of London’s Oxford Street, Dr Martens is to open a new flagship store, becoming its second on the key retail location.

The fashion footwear brand has signed a 10-year lease for the new store at 184-188 Oxford Street, which provides around 6,000 sq ft of retail accommodation across a basement, ground and first floor.
Complementing its store at 368 Oxford Street, it will feature the retailer’s full range of collections, “which tell the brand’s story that spans over five decades”.
Property landlord The Langham Estate, said the latest deal “highlights the surge in retailers looking to grow their brand in Oxford Street, which is currently seeing a huge transformation set out by the [local authority for] Westminster that will strengthen the district’s position as a world-class shopping destination”.
It added: “Eastern Oxford Street in particular is primed for further growth in line with the new line interchange at Tottenham Court Road Station, which is seeing a [big] uptick in underground passengers.”
Callum White, Central London Retail & Leisure Agent at Savills, which secured the lease, added: “Oxford Street continues to see a surge in take-up over the past year with availability significantly diminishing, those still on the market will no doubt benefit from the upcoming openings and new store announcements over the winter months.”
Sam Foyle, Co-head of Prime Global Retail at Savills, also said: “Dr Martens [is] a sign of the quality of new tenants signing to take flagship stores on Oxford Street following recent openings by Rituals, Pandora, Foot Asylum, Reserved, Under Armour and PSG to name a few. There are going to be many more announcements in the coming weeks.”
