Dutch footwear retailer Nelson announced that it has taken over four branches of the bankrupt footwear chain Bovendeert Schoenen. The chain went into liquidation on 12 December 2025. It operates 15 stores and employs 125 people.

Nelson said that the takeover includes the branches in Eindhoven (Woensel), Etten-Leur, Oosterhout, and Valkenswaard, which will soon re-open.
Furthermore, Nelson Schoenen said that it will offer employment to the current store employees of the four branches. Additionally, the retailer announced that it is currently in talks to offer employment to the store employees of the 11 other branches that exclude the takeover.
Nelson Schoenen was founded in 1949. Today, the retailer operates 95 stores across the country. Nelson Schoenen offers collections for men, women and children, including brands such as Ecco, Timberland, Tommy Hilfiger, Converse, Gabor, Nike and Van Lier, as well as a private label collection. In addition to the brick-and-mortar branches, Nelson Schoenen is also available via its own e-store and at the online department store Wehkamp.
