The Song That Changed My Lifeis a segment that gives a chance for musicians and artists to tell us about the song that made them who they are.

This week, we talked to Casual – he was a founding member of underground Bay Area rap crew Hieroglyphics.

The group's 1998 album, 3rd Eye Vision– is a classic to many hip-hop fans. Casual is also a prolific solo MC. He's put out more than a dozen records of his own. His latest, Starduster combines Casual with producer Albert Jenkins.

Casual talks about Ride the Rhythm from Chill Rob G's debut album from 1989. The track helped Casual visualize his own flow when he was coming up. Casual breaks down the song's lyrics and Chill Rob G's contributions to the genre.
