Crew Clothing names sports agency to support growing sponsorship portfolioBy

Sports sponsorship and associations are a “significant driver” for Crew Clothing Company’s business. So the British lifestyle and fashion company has appointed global sports, entertainment and culture agency Octagon to support its large and growing sponsorship portfolio.

Octagon has been brought on board to further develop the label’s partnerships with British sporting institutions and ambassadors that currently include Williams Racing, Henley Royal Regatta, LTA Tennis for Britain, Exeter Chiefs, Legends Golf Tour, Professional Cricketers Association and Rugby Tots. 

Octagon will work as a specialist extension of Crew’s existing sponsorship team to “further use its expertise to support the expansion of the company’s sports sponsorship portfolio”. 

Over the last two years, Crew said it has been investing in its sports partnerships, hosting pop-ups at events, launching exclusive content on its website and creating new collections. This includes a Williams Racing F1 licensed collection, a bespoke occasionwear package for Henley Royal Regatta and, most recently, a new technical golf range to enhance its sponsorship of the Legends Tour. 

The business said exposure from existing partnerships is reaching 11 million potential customers and it has also found that new customers attracted through this route “are more engaged with the Crew Clothing brand”. 

Georgina Clark, Crew Clothing Brand Director, said: “Sport sponsorship has become such a significant part of [our] brand identity and we have been busy building out our portfolio over the past couple of years.”
